ABA Therapy for
Children with Autism
in Maryland & Virginia
Individualized, evidence-based support for children with autism
What Is ABA Therapy?
ABA stands for applied behavior analysis. It is a science-based approach that helps children learn meaningful skills and reduce behaviors that interfere with growth and learning. It’s also backed by decades of research.
At SPARKS, our clinicians use contemporary ABA practices that are individualized, developmentally appropriate, and guided by clinical oversight. Programs are designed to support progress across settings and stages of development.
Coverage for ABA treatment is mandated in the United States. Treatment can happen in your child’s home, community, school, or at Learning Centers designed for ABA therapy and related services.
What We Mean by Contemporary ABA
At SPARKS, we refer to our approach as contemporary ABA because the field has evolved since it first took shape in the 1970s and 1980s. Today’s ABA is more child-centered, developmentally appropriate, and family-focused than earlier models. We believe in making learning playful, naturalistic, age-appropriate, and fun with a personalized treatment plan for your child.
Backed by science and years of clinical experience
Finding the right team can make a meaningful difference. SPARKS is committed to providing the support children need to build skills, grow in confidence, and participate fully in daily life.

Life can feel overwhelming, and an autism diagnosis can add new questions and concerns. At SPARKS, we are here to support families every step of the way. Services are available where they work best for your child — at home, in the community, at one of our Learning Centers, or in school.
